Strategy 8: Combine Brush Strokes and Parallel Structures

 

          From the Internet sites below or from the CD, have students select an interesting image of a person. Ask students to describe this individual as though they were writing a scene from a short story. Remind them to incorporate specific details and the brush strokes that they learned earlier; however, at the conclusion of this description, have students use parallel structure to create a dramatic ending.
